1. About this policy
Safini ("Safini," "we," "us," or "our") is a family app that helps parents manage screen time and assign activities to their children. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process, why we process it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to parents and users.
This policy applies to the Safini mobile applications, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). A parent or legal guardian creates each child profile. A child may then sign in and link their account to that profile using an invite code supplied by the parent.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, we may process:
- Account details received when a parent or child signs in, such as name, email address, Google profile picture, language, and account settings.
- Child profile details supplied by a parent, such as first name or nickname, age, gender, avatar, and profile preferences.
- Activity and reward data, including assigned and completed tasks, TimeCoins earned or spent, app allowances, and screen-time history.
- Device and technical data needed to operate and secure the Service, such as app version, operating system, IP address, request logs, diagnostics, and security events.
- Step counts or other task-progress values reported to Safini when a family uses a related activity feature.
- Photos submitted for task verification, only when a parent requires photo proof and the child chooses to take and upload a photo.
- Messages entered in Safini assistant features, messages you send to support, and email addresses submitted to our website newsletter or earlier waitlist.
- Purchase records when your family buys Safini Pro. For an App Store purchase, Apple sends us a signed record of it: transaction ids, the plan bought, purchase, renewal and expiry dates, trial and renewal status, the App Store country, price and currency. For a purchase on our website, Paddle sends us your Paddle customer and subscription ids, email address, country, the plan, price, currency, and the subscription’s status and dates.
We never receive payment card or bank details: Apple and Paddle collect them and do not share them with us. We also do not intentionally collect contacts or biometric templates. Device authentication such as Face ID or fingerprint recognition remains under the device platform’s control.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve the Service, including to:
- Create and maintain parent-controlled accounts and child profiles.
- Synchronize settings between parent and child devices.
- Apply screen-time rules, verify activities, calculate rewards, and show progress.
- Provide support, send service notices, and respond to requests.
- Send the Safini newsletter to people who subscribe on our website. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us at the address below.
- Know whether your family has Safini Pro, keep that right after renewals, refunds and cancellations, and keep records of payments for accounting and tax.
- Detect misuse, protect accounts, debug failures, and maintain Service security.
- Analyze aggregated or de-identified usage to improve Safini.
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Where required by law, we rely on parental consent or another valid legal basis and allow that consent to be withdrawn.
4. Children’s privacy and parental control
Safini is designed for parent-managed families. A parent or legal guardian creates the child profile and provides the invite code that permits a child account to link to it. A child cannot create or join a Safini family without that parent-controlled code.
- We do not show targeted advertising to children or sell children’s personal information.
- Parents can review, correct, export, or request deletion of their child’s information.
- Taking a task-proof photo requires a clear feature choice and camera permission.
- We limit collection to information reasonably needed to provide parent-enabled features.
If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate parental authorization, contact us and we will investigate and delete it where required.
5. When we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may share the minimum information necessary with:
- Supabase, which provides authentication, database, and file-storage infrastructure for account data and task-proof photos.
- Google, when you choose Google Sign-In. Google authenticates your Google account and provides the basic profile information described above.
- Apple, which sells Safini Pro in the App Store and processes those payments under Apple’s own privacy policy.
- Paddle.com, our online reseller and Merchant of Record for purchases on our website, which processes those payments under its own privacy notice.
- Other service providers that support hosting, communications, diagnostics, and customer support, under appropriate contractual safeguards.
- Authorities or other parties when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, Safini, or the public.
- A successor organization in a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale, subject to this policy and applicable law.
Information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
6. Storage, retention, and deletion
We retain personal information only while an account is active or as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the Service. In-app account deletion removes the account and associated data from active systems as part of the deletion process. Residual encrypted backups may remain for up to 90 days before being overwritten, unless a longer period is legally required.
Deleting a child account removes its linked child profile, tasks, rewards, proof photos, and activity. A parent in a family with another parent leaves that family and their personal profile is deleted; family records needed by the remaining parent continue without the departing parent’s identity. Deleting the only parent account removes the family and its child profiles and activity.
Your family’s Safini Pro plan is deleted with the family. Records of payments and store notifications are kept, no longer linked to the family, for as long as accounting and tax rules require, because they record money that moved.
Some optional verification content may have a shorter in-app retention period. Aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify a person may be kept longer.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. Parents may exercise these rights for a child profile they control.
You can permanently delete your account in Safini by opening Profile or My Family → Settings → Delete Account. You can also follow our account deletion instructions or email us at the address below. You may change optional device permissions in your device settings. We may need to verify your identity and relationship to a child profile before completing a manual request.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted network connections, access controls, and security monitoring. No service can guarantee absolute security, so parents should use a strong password and protect access to their devices.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Safini or applicable requirements change. We will post the updated version here and revise the date above. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice where required.
This policy is published in English, Russian, Uzbek, Kyrgyz and Kazakh. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version prevails.
