The rules for using Safini’s family screen-time and activity services.
Effective and last updated: August 23, 2026
Important: If you create or manage a child profile, you confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian and are authorized to accept these Terms on the child’s behalf.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Safini ("Safini," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the Safini mobile applications, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, downloading an app, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and parental consent
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement in your country. Child profiles may be created and controlled only by a parent or legal guardian. A child may sign in and link an account to that profile only with the parent-controlled invite code.
As the adult account holder, you are responsible for deciding whether the Service is suitable for your family, obtaining any consent required by law, supervising child use, and keeping parent controls and credentials secure.
3. Accounts and family profiles
Provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably current.
Protect your password, device access, and parent verification methods.
Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or account misuse.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account, except to the extent caused by our failure to use reasonable security measures.
Do not share parent-level access with a child or use Safini to manage a child for whom you do not have legal authority.
4. What Safini provides
Safini provides tools that can help families set screen-time rules, assign activities, track progress, and offer in-app rewards. Some functionality depends on device permissions, operating-system controls, internet access, third-party platforms, or compatible devices.
Safini is a family-management aid, not a substitute for active parental supervision, medical or psychological care, educational advice, or emergency services. No screen-time control is guaranteed to prevent every workaround, interruption, device reset, or platform limitation. You remain responsible for your child’s device access, safety, and wellbeing.
We may improve, add, remove, or limit features. If a change materially reduces a paid feature, we will provide notice or a remedy where required by law.
5. Device permissions and third-party services
Optional features may request access to screen-time controls, notifications, photos or camera, physical-activity data, or location. You control these permissions through the Service and your device settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.
The Service may interoperate with platforms such as Apple, Google, app stores, health or activity services, and device manufacturers. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services, and we are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
6. Subscriptions, payments, and cancellation
Safini may offer free and paid plans. Prices, included features, billing periods, and any trial terms will be shown before purchase. Taxes may apply. Unless stated otherwise at checkout, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
You can cancel through the platform or payment provider used for purchase. Cancellation stops future renewal but normally does not create a refund for a current billing period, except where required by law or stated in the applicable refund policy. App-store purchases are also subject to that store’s billing and refund rules.
7. Acceptable use
You may use the Service only lawfully and for its intended family purposes. You may not:
Use the Service to monitor, control, or collect information about a person without legal authority or required consent.
Upload unlawful, harmful, abusive, or rights-infringing content.
Attempt to bypass security, access another account, probe systems, or interfere with Service operation.
Reverse engineer, copy, resell, scrape, or commercially exploit the Service except as permitted by law or written authorization.
Use automated means to overload the Service or introduce malware or harmful code.
8. Your content and feedback
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give Safini a limited, worldwide license to host, process, reproduce, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service or comply with law. This license ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, subject to reasonable backup retention and legal requirements.
If you voluntarily provide product feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or payment, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.
9. Safini’s intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, trademarks, text, and other materials, is owned by Safini or its licensors and is protected by applicable law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your family’s non-commercial use.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device, or able to prevent every attempt to bypass a restriction.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Safini will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from the Service. Safini’s total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Safini for the Service during the 12 months before the claim or US $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or liability limits. In those places, these provisions apply only to the extent permitted, and they do not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Safini or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, create risk or harm, fail to pay applicable fees, or if required by law. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to fix the issue.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions—will continue to apply.
12. Governing rules and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where Safini’s responsible operating entity is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except that mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence continue to apply. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may hear disputes that cannot be resolved informally.
Before filing a claim, please contact us and allow 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or using a small-claims or consumer-protection process where available.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised Terms here and update the date above. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where required. Continuing to use the Service after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
14. General terms
If any provision is unenforceable, it will be modified only as much as necessary and the remaining provisions will stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, reorganization, financing, or sale. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement about the Service unless additional terms are shown for a specific feature.
